Moscow State University Research Institute of Mechanics opens new enrollment for free technical courses for Moscow schoolchildren

On the basis of the MSU Center for Technological Support of Education, Moscow schoolchildren can learn free of charge prototyping technologies, rocket science and Python programming from specialists of Moscow University.

Registration for the course is open at mos.ru . The number of places is limited. Recruitment is going on three programs, the result of each program is planned project.

Python Programming Fundamentals (Code in mos.ru: 2069341)
The course is designed for students in grades 5-11 and consists of five parts:
Level 1 Python. Fundamentals. Part 1. Variables, strings, logical operators, lists, tuples, and branching.
Level 2. Fundamentals. Part 2. Loops, libraries, functions.
Level 3. Introduction to OOP in Python. Creating classes.
Level 4. Turtle library in Python. Getting ready to program robot movements.
Level 5. Turtle and Turtlebro.py. Robot Programming.
Each block is built on a face-to-face/part-time scheme, that is, first there are distance lessons, which end with a face-to-face class on weekdays at 18:00, so you can choose any of the days when it is convenient to go. And at the end of the fourth and fifth blocks, students who have mastered the distance course will realize small projects on robots.

Manufacturing of prototypes (Code on Mos.ru: 2067652)
A fully face-to-face course for students in grades 5-11 focuses on the practical aspects of 3D modeling to work on 3D printers widely available in educational settings. The course runs on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. from February 17 through December 2024 and allows participants to compete in design and engineering competitions.

Modern rocket modeling (Code on Mos.ru: 2067555)
A fully face-to-face course for students in grades 5-11 to develop an engineering project from the ground up and launch your own hydropneumatic rocket with an electronic escape system. The course runs on Saturdays at 5:40 p.m. from February 17 through December 2024.

Course participants will also be able to participate in a demonstration exam and earn points toward next year's USE.
