Want to feel like a moonwalk operator?
For the third year in a row, a rover race has been held on the Avacha volcano of Kamchatka. And for the second year already, schoolchildren from all over Russia can try their hand at operating a planet ship.
The race is organized by the Foundation for Promotion of Innovations and the Volt Brothers project with the support of the Moscow State University Research Institute of Mechanics and the Kamchatka Volcanarium.
Remote control of a robot is one of the key challenges in robotics, as robot autonomy is still not at the highest level. On the other hand, teleoperation enables humans to look into places where they cannot physically reach, such as a volcano crater or the Moon.
This year we are selecting sixty-four teams that will compete on August 6 and 7 at the specially equipped polygon of the Lomonosov Moscow State University Research Institute of Mechanics. Valuable prizes are waiting for the winners. All you need is an Internet connection of at least ten megabits per second and a desire.
Team registration begins June 20 and runs through July 30, 2024. You can register and find out more information about the races here: http://roverchallenge.ru/kamchatka and in a group https://vk.com/voltbro
We look forward to seeing you at the races!
