The finals of the VII All-Russian rocket-building championship "Jet Propulsion" started
The finals of the VII All-Russian Rocket Building Championship "Reactive Movement" 2025 take place from May 5 to 10 in the city of Chekhov, Moscow Region. 30 teams of schoolchildren and students from 13 regions, including Amur, Volgograd, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov, Saratov, Sverdlovsk, Tomsk regions, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk Krai, Yugra and Moscow, are taking part in the final competition. In total, more than 450 team applications were submitted for participation in the VII season of the competition.
During the championship, participants develop engineering skills by practicing circuitry, soldering, rocket flight modeling, 3D modeling, programming, as well as pump up flexible skills such as teamwork, leadership, product development, ability to take responsibility, put forward and defend ideas. In the finals, each team gets the opportunity to launch their rocket twice, take telemetry data, process them and defend their projects in front of a jury, confirming or refuting the results of their theoretical calculations.
The championship is organized by the Volt Brothers project and the Lomonosov Moscow State University Research Institute of Mechanics. The competitions are traditionally held with the support of Roscosmos State Corporation. Over the past seven years, more than 300 teams from all over Russia have participated in the championship.
In 2025, for the first time, six regional Jet Propulsion championships for aspiring rocket builders are being held: in Moscow, Rostov, Kaliningrad, Volgograd Regions, Perm and Krasnoyarsk Territories.
"This year we have regional championships, as the number of participants willing to launch their rockets has grown significantly. So far we have six pilot regions, but we plan to have many more in the future. Our goal is for every school and technical university to develop a rocket-building direction, as the launch of one's own rocket creates a huge involvement impulse, and a water rocket can be launched at any school stadium," says Anton Rogachev, the head of the rocket-building championship, a leading engineer at the Research Institute of Mechanics of Moscow State University.
