The Robotics Laboratory of the Research Institute of Mechanics of Lomonosov Moscow State University launches a free inter-university course on robotics based on ROS2 with practice on real robots.

The goal of the course is to introduce students to the technology stack to build their own robot. The course is hands-on, so each student will work directly with robots and components for them.

Course Registration: forms.yandex.ru/u/6671aa30... . The number of places is limited! On February 18, the final list of participants will be formed.

The main audience is university students who want to program robots and lead a whole robot development project. Basic skills required Python, Linux, Arduino.

Classes will be held on Fridays from 18:00 to 20:00 at 1 Michurinsky Ave. Classes will start on February 21. The end - May 30th. A total of 12 classes are planned.

We will guide course participants through all the major steps of building a robot:
Motor control electronics, motor driver control programs and on-board power organization
Sensors - lidars, cameras, orientation sensors - their selection and connection
Linux, the robot's central computer and the organization of communication inside and outside
Working with Serial, CAN, Ethernet, Cyphal, MicroROS
A single system that integrates all robot subsystems - motors, sensors, power - ROS2.
Modeling a robot in ROS2.
Final project to build my first robot on ROS2.

The course is held as part of the Rovers Cup space robotics championship roverchallenge.ru/ organized by the Moscow State University Research Institute of Mechanics and the Volt Brothers project with the support of Roscosmos State Corporation.

"It is very important that universities graduate specialists who can build robots in practice. This course will not only immerse students in the modern stack of robot manufacturing and control technologies, but also allow them to understand how to make a robot better than others" - commented Anton Rogachev, Lead Engineer at the Research Institute of Mechanics of MSU Rogachev
