Nature and Climate Photo Contest

We invite you to participate in the photo contest "Nature and Climate"! You need to fill in the form https://vk.cc/cxNGqK.

The aim of the competition: to show the beauty of nature and its relationship with climate, as well as modern approaches to the study of natural ecosystems and their role in climate regulation.

Organizers: Scientific Consortium "RITM Carbon", Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Technologies of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Who can participate? The photo contest is open to all comers, professional and amateur photographers. The main thing is that the photo works should be about nature, climate, science.

The photo contest is held in five categories:
1. forest;
2. tundra and forest tundra;
3. Steppe, forest-steppe, meadows;
4. Seas, freshwater ecosystems and wetlands;
5. expeditions and explorations.

 Important Dates:
July 1 - August 31, 2024 - submit photos for the contest,
September 1-20 - debriefing,
September 27 - opening of the photo exhibition with the best photos at the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Technologies of the National Research University Higher School of Economics. The opening of the photo exhibition is timed to coincide with the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the Faculty, which is operated by the National Research University Higher School of Economics since 2019 and opened in partnership with the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences,
September - October - awarding the winners.

 One author can submit no more than three photos (in total, regardless of the nomination).

Criteria for evaluating photographs:
- Relevance to the contest theme and the submitted nomination;
- Artistry and originality;
- Informativeness;
- Technical quality.
