On June 1, the final of the Orbit International Space Tournament took place in Ekaterinburg
The tournament included a satellite building competition, a forum on "International Space Education" and a training course for space education mentors.
At the competition schoolchildren and students from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan assembled and programmed on-board systems of satellites of CubeSat 3U format of Introsat designer, made prototypes of devices, launched satellites into the stratosphere to a height of 24 kilometers and realized their scientific experiments.
On May 31, the teams presented their projects in front of experts at the final conference of the International Space Education Forum.
The forum participants discussed the prospects of engineering and space programs and projects development. The forum also included a space engineering educational program for mentors.
In addition to educational and competitive activities, the tournament also included career guidance meetings with specialists of the enterprises and cosmonauts of Roscosmos. The children were able to ask their questions and communicate with cosmonauts Salizhan Sharipov, Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin.
